I'm wondering if any of you guys that make a lot of guitars ever have too many offcuts? I could use a few scraps for cauls, patches etc. and since I'm still on my first build, I just don't have much around.

For example, I'm trying to repair an old parlor guitar for a friend, and I need about 6 inches of back graft material or just a softwood scrap. (Don't worry - the guitar is worthless - I checked before hacking at it).

Would any of you be willing to part with some of these scraps that are maybe just a nuisance to you, but would be mighty handy for me? I'd pay the shipping, of course.

Thanks in advance,
Ron Weaver

Hi Ron! I'd be glad to help but I just cleaned the shop and anything that wasn't headed into a guitar is GONE! Maybe in a couple months I can shoot something your way if you are still looking!

Thanks very much. I'm sure I will be, since it will probably take me a couple of weeks to finish the first one up and then I'm going to move my shop to a bigger room.

Please - just the stuff that's headed for the garbage bin - I can buy the other stuff - it's just that I've had several occasions already where I wished I had a piece of this or a scrap of that. You know?

Thanks again,
Ron

Bob, i'll take a truck load of your scrap anytime and when it gets here, i'll stare at my adorable zoot pile while eating my CCF! Serge Poirier38828.7502777778

If you're in the Ann Arbor area, Hesh may be looking for someone to share his bathroom shop space!
